Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has set out to reinvent herself. Again. Jenny seems ready to leave the block behind by introducing Lola, an alternative to her alter ego J.Lo.

“Fresh Out the Oven,” a new single by her new character, has hit the web. A source from Lopez’s label, Epic, says the song is not the lead single off of her upcoming album (source: NY Daily News.) The song, which was produced by the Neptunes, features Miami rapper Pitbull.

WhoisLola.com has also been launched as part of a promotional campaign for Lola’s public debut. The teaser website, which does not show Lopez’s face, features little more than a video of a silhouette dancing seductively and various sets of red lips. Lola has also posted one tweet on Twitter, simply saying “Lola here. What’s my deal? Well, wouldn’t you like to know…”

It was revealed that Lopez’s husband, latin singer Marc Anthony, gave the singer the nickname Lola back in 2004. He often gives her a shout out in his songs, throwing an exclamation like “Te amo Lola!” (I love you Lola!) somewhere in the midst of his percussion beats.
As for who exactly Lola will be for the public, only time (and Lopez’s marketing team) will tell…
