Rumors have been floating around, but now it has been officially confirmed: Jennifer Lopez has signed on to become a Season 10 judge on the hit TV show American Idol.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Lopez, now 41, snagged the deal thanks to her manager Benny Medina, who orchestrated a meeting with Idol producers about a month ago. J-lo will join Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler on the judge panel.
Lets hope the singer/actress is better at giving musical advice than making it. Jennifer’s job for the last handful of years has been managing her celebrity status even more so than her music. Her last hit, “Do It Well,” did okay in 2007, and her newest single “Louboutins” did very poorly. She’s at a point in her career when she’s on the defensive to stay relevant, more than anything else.
