The R’n’B singer Jazmine Sullivan is back with a new single extract from her upcoming album that should be released later this year. Her sophomore LP remains untitled but the song “Holdin’ You Down,” co-produced by Lamb and her dear friend Missy Elliott, already leaked to the Internet.
Jazmine once again shows her powerful voice and strong personality on this track which should definitely be a hit. Though this time, the soulful singer from Philadelphia doesn’t bust her boyfriend’s window: “I just keep holding you down/ I feel so stupid/foolish/loving you this way/But what can I say?” say the lyrics.
This deep love song dealing with the twists and turns of relationships samples “Affirmative Action” by Nas. Jazmine adds a female and modern touch that takes this street anthem to a whole other level. The artist recently announced her new album on Twitter: “anyway album will be out soon. finishing touches and then its urs! hope i can help somebody.” After this promising single, she sure can and we can’t wait to hear more!
