Only several days after Beyoncé gave birth to the couple’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter, and the release of “Glory,” a song inspired by the newborn, Jay-Z announced the re-opening of the first link in his chain of the famed 40/40 club line. The New York City location closed down last year for $10 million worth of renovations. Work stalled in September due a lack of accordance with local labor regulations, now on January 18, Jigga and business partner Juan Perez will re-open the lounge and sports bar. The Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez is reportedly attending the “invite-only” party.
The following day, January 19, NYC’s 40/40 will become available to the public. 2012 promises to be a big business year for the icon; the team partially owned by Shawn Carter, the New Jersey Nets, will finish their relocation to Hov’s hometown of Brooklyn, NY.
