Jason Derülo

Red hot pop sensation Haitian/ American singer Jason Derülo released his eagerly anticipated self-titled debut “Jason Derülo” on Tuesday, March, 2nd. The album which was produced by J.R. Rotem, Max Martin and Jay Orpin featured the hit singles, “Whatcha Say” and “In My Head” which was also written and co-written by Derülo, Claude Kelly and J. R. Rotem.

Since the release of his August 2009 blockbuster lead single “Whatcha Say,” which quickly climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Rhythmic, and Pop charts and remained atop the Pop chart for four consecutive weeks, Derülo became one of the new fresh faces to look out for in 2010. Not only “Whatcha Say,” climbed to No. 2 on the iTunes singles chart but since its release the single has sold over four million copies worldwide, including three million in the U.S. while being certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Derülo’s second single “In My Head,” a rock electro-influenced was released on December 2009 and like its predecessor the song became Derülo’second song to reach the top 10 at #9.

After attending performing arts schools where he honed his talents as a singer and dancer, Derülo was discovered by music producer J.R. Rotem, who signed him to his record label Beluga Heights, soon after Derülo’s music career began in 2007, when he was featured on Birdman’s song “Bossy.” The singer also produced and wrote songs for Lil Wayne, Diddy, Danity Kane, Sean Kingston, Cassie, and Lil Mama.

Recently Derülo was featured in a song by new artist Will Roush called “Turn it Up.” He is currently promoting his album as one of the opening acts for Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball Tour.”

“Ridin’ Solo” his third single will be released on March 23rd, 2010 while his fourth single; “The Sky’s the Limit” will be released on April 4th, 2010.
