Rapper J Cole took to Twitter on Tuesday, June 21, to announce the title of his long awaited debut album and also provided a release date. First set to be unveiled last year, subsequently pushed back but now “Cole World: The Sideline Story” is set to be released on September 27. “Work Out” and “Cheer Up,” two new songs from “Cole World” were released on Monday, June 20. J Cole was the first artist to be signed to Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation label, and it is rumored that the rap mogul will appear on Cole’s forthcoming album. However, the 26-year-old said in an interview with SBTV that no other emcees will be featured on the release. “I only got so much rap real estate and I want to keep it to myself.” As far as his music goes, Cole feels he’s changing the game. “There’s a lot of things people are going through that I feel like other rappers might not discuss. Those are the things I want to talk about — things that other rappers might smack themselves and be like, ‘Why didn’t I make a song about that?’ That’s the type of music it is.” The North Carolina native is currently on tour in support of Rihanna’s “Loud” tour.
