Grammy-winning R&B singer-songwriter India Arie will star in the first Broadway revival of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf.”
Whoopi, Goldberg will executive produce the show, which is set for an early August 2008 opening. In 1977, on its original run, the show was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play. “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf” presents the stories of seven women of color from the African Diaspora.
