Forbes Magazine’s top three hip hop moguls of 2007 are all on one track. On the “Forbes 1, 2, 3” remix of I Get Money, “they tryna buy some gucci, i’m tryna buy the mall!” says the youngest of the three, 50 who leads off, bragging that he’s still as street as ever (despite his major status). Diddy, who represents the #3 in the song title, shows off his ten years of experience in the mogul biz. Jay-Z, finishes the track describing his progress as a hustler from the Marcy Projects to the Def Jam presidential office.
Jay told “Entertainement weekly”, that with this track he wanted to show that despite Kanye and Fifty rivalry there was no problem between him and the G.Unit‘s CEO.
“[50 Cent] called me to ask for the remix, and I told him he couldn’t put the remix out until the first week came. I didn’t want it to affect any type of numbers. So just to show, I’m still competing! We’re not enemies, we’re just competing. When asked if NY is still his he said:
“why wouldn’t New York be mine? It certainly is…”
One thing is for sure. There is a lot of money on that record!!
But at least the track was made from the only three who have the right to do so…
