Vitorino Hilton was recently struck in an on-going string of robberies carried out by criminals in the community. Six men, armed and masked, broke into the Marseille defender’s dwelling, they struck the footballer then constricted his family with cords and confined them to separate rooms. The burglars’ bounty included money and jewelry; a rented get-away car was later found flamed in Southern Marseille.
In addition to the Brazilian, fellow team mates Lucho Gonzalez and both Ayew brothers were at home when crooks, costumed as commandoes, came; the culprits made off with the Argentine midfielder’s Bentley and credit cards. Fabrice Abriel, André-Pierre Gignac, Stéphane Mbia, and former club president Jean-Claude Dassier were all absent when their abodes were raided by robbers.
No serious injuries were incurred; the Criminal Section of the city’s police are investigating the most recent and prior home invasions perpetrated against Marseilles members.
