Harry Redknapp faces tax evasion charges

He is rumoured to be next in line as the manager of the England national team, but for the time being, Harry Redknapp is in the dock answering serious charges.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager  has been charged with evading taxes from 2002 and 2007, during the time he managed Portsmouth.

Redknapp is said to have acted with the help of Milan Mandaric, who owned Portsmouth during that period. Both defendants deny the charges. The trial is set to last two weeks. The Spurs manager can count on the support of his son, former Liverpool player, Jamie Redknapp.

Harry Redknapp has been particularly busy this year; he underwent heart surgery while leading his team onto the Premier League podium.
