With the dwindling economy playing a major factor in the pulling out of fashion collection shows, many thought that the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Bryant Park in New York City would be no more!
With many shows being overly crowded with celebrities (especially Charlotte Ronson – Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson and Mark Ronson were present), local socialites and overlyzelous fashionistas, it felt like normal even though economically it wasn’t.
While many Fashion Week favorites had to drop out due to financial situations, Fall 2009 collections exemplified the term, “Color is Back”, by showcasing some newbies and well-favored designers such as Charlotte Ronson, Andy & Debb, Anna Sui, William Rast, Tibi, Brian Reyes, Vena Cava, Carlos Miele, E.Y. Wada, and Miss Sixty.
Equally both men and women will be in high fashion for the next season to come. The Womens’ collections displayed dresses with asymmetrical cuts, bold colors, low necklines, boyish tailored suits and fur collars to excentriate the femininity yet edgy feel of today, while the Mens’ collections displayed a more metrosexual and tailored look.
