Ticket sales are officially open for the Youth Hip Hop Festival in Durban, South Africa. Organizers Richie R Concepts and Kgolo Da Guru have confirmed that the local line-up will be decided by public vote.
The annual picnic type festival, featuring international artist Rick Ross will take place at the Moses Mabhida stadium on 2 May 2015 this year. For the first time ever South African fans will get a chance to vote for their local favorites who will form the local line up alongside the international headliner.
The competition is open to all fans across the country and will include South Africa’s entire slew of esteemed hip hop artists. Voting is open until the end of March and the final lineup will be announced in April.
As an incentive, not only will voters get a chance to choose the line-up but will also stand a chance of winning tickets to the show. Show promoters confirmed today that they have reserved 10% of the targeted capacity for give-aways.
For those not lucky enough to have won, early bird tickets are now on sale and range from R380 for General Access tickets and R850 for the VIP experience. Please note tickets will only be available at Computicket this year and no tickets will be sold at the door. VVIP Hospitality packages made available for out-of-town guests will be announced next month!
Offering a wide scope of SA’s finest hip hop talent, this ‘first of its kind’ festival in South African will feature over 20 acts and personalities and hopes to attract over 15 000 people this year.
