A proven hit-maker, with 5 albums and nearly 10 years in the rap game, Fabolous has managed to maintain both an eager fan base and his youthful charm. Still, there is a lingering feeling that the Brooklyn-bred MC has yet to produce an album truly worthy of his talents.
Early in his career, Fabolous’ clever word play garnered him respect with songs like “Can’t Let You Go” and “Young’n (Holla Back).” His laid-back flow fosters easy listening for those who may not be great fans of rap. Combine these factors with his experience in the game and boyish good looks, and Fabolous may finally be poised to fully convert his potential into kinetic energy with his new album.
For his fifth release, “Loso’s Way,” the rejuvenated rapper seems ready to solidify his status as a major force in hip-hop. “Loso’s Way,” is a themed project (think Jay-Z’s “American Gangster”) based on the popular cult movie “Carlito’s Way.” Fabolous has said that this album will give listeners access to aspects of his persona that have never been exposed. The album, which will be released on June 30th, features collaborations with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson among others.
His current single “Throw It In The Bag” featuring The-Dream is receiving heavy rotation on the airwaves.
