Who said that selling more album copies than the expected number was a miracle nowadays? Certainly not Eminem, whose seventh studio album “Recovery” sold more than 750 00 copies in the U.S. for his first-week sales when the industry sources only predicted 600 000. The last artists to be this successful during the first week of sales were AC/DC in 2008.
Slim Shady was already known for rocking the charts like no one else since he sold more albums than any artist in the last decade. Nevertheless, these numbers remain impressive considering the many changes the music industry has been through. This should be a new beginning for Eminem who delivered one of his most personal works with “Recovery,” in reference of his years of addiction and rehab.
Make sure you check out Eminem’s latest video of first single “Not Afraid,” which became the second rap song to ever debut as No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Stay tuned, “Love The Way You Lie” video featuring Rihanna should be released soon…
