French rapper Eklips recently recorded a four minute beat-box synopsis of hip-hop’s history for Trace Urban.
In one four minute take the emcee expertly mimicked many of the genre’s greatest rappers’ styles and sound, all while recreating the specific song’s beat underneath. Eklips starts with Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” and eventually progressed to Jay-Z’s “Death of Auto-tune.”
Eklips previously copied other rappers from France, now he has moved on to American emcees. In another video he imitates Eminem, Drake, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes.
