As you can hear everywhere from radio to clubs, the trend of the summer is definitely R&B dance, and we love it! But if you’re looking for some soulful therapy, Dwele has everything you need to just chill. The neo-soul singer from Detroit is about to release his fourth studio album titled “W.W.W. (W.ants W.orld W.omen),” which will hit stores on June 29th.
A few weeks ago, Dwele delivered the first video from his upcoming album for “What’s Not To Love,” a mid-tempo love song that is perfect for relaxing or hooking up at the beach. He also released three short commercials for his album that announce a sexy, sensual, and deep sound, revealing the singer’s view on the world. When asked about his newest project Dwele explained, “I wanted to do as Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway did. When you hear their music now, you feel exactly what the climate was at the time, and that’s the job of musicians, to talk about the world’s situation.”
For those who don’t know him yet, Dwele’s modern and genuine style was summed up by the British newspaper “The Independent” back in 2005: “Dwele’s rooted in vintage soul but isn’t stuck in the past.” The artist might play the discretion card on the media, but that just seems to be the reflection of his subtle yet mind-blowing talent. His mellifluous voice, combined with a flow that parallels hip-hop, make him one of the most promising contemporary soul singers.
After releasing several mixtapes and three albums all praised by critics, the artist has collaborated with the some of the greatest and is now featured on Kanye West’s new track “Power.” With many qualities that make him so easy to love, Dwele is one you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on!
