Drake will executive produce an upcoming posthumous Aaliyah album, according HipHopDX. Drake will also premier a new single featuring Aaliyah at his upcoming OVO Festival 2012, which will take place on August 5 at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre.
During a March interview with Tim Westwood, Drizzy declared “I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon…Just some special things. Just gave you that, just a little. Because I said, I’m with Westwood, so I can’t not. But great things, great things for music, period.”
Producer Jeffrey “J. Dub” Walker previously stated that an unreleased track titled “Unforgettable” would be a part of the LP. However Vibe recently reported that Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah’s brother, denied the rumors via Twitter “there is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family.”
Stay tuned for updates and a possible song release.
