“Headlines” was heralded as the first official track off Drake’s sophomore LP “Take Care.” The “Marvin’s Room” MC revealed the title in a one word tweet this week.
In an interview with the music magazine Rolling Stone, Drake denoted a couple of the artists already on the album, slated to drop October 24. Tracks recorded and almost ready to go are “Shot for Me,” “Free Spirit,” featuring Rick Ross, and “The Real Her,” made with mentor Lil Wayne. Drizzy enlisted Boi-1da and Noah ’40’ Shebib, two prominent producers responsible for some of his prior work. However he’s also hoping for the help of DJ Premier, Florence and The Machine, The Weeknd, and Jamie Smith of the xx’s.
In “Shot for Me” Drake brags “Bitch, I’m the man.” But, his upcoming album will tell whether or not the boast is warranted and if he improves on his first LP’s self-described “disconnected” sound.
