Get familiar with up and coming artist Donae’o. Hailing from London, the 25 year old songwriter, rapper, and producer has recently been making some major waves in the urban mainstream music scene in the UK. His sound brings something new to the table; combining elements of hip-hop, soul, and electronic music. When asked to describe his sound, he said, “I bring the energy, and that’s what’s make me appealing. It also means that whatever kind of music a person is into they are usually moved by my songs. I have seen it with my own eyes. I don’t say that to be big-headed, I say that so appreciative that I have been blessed with this gift.”
2009 was a huge year for the London based artist, releasing many tracks such as “Devil In A Blue Dress,” “African Warrior,” and “Party Hard”–all of which were featured immensely on BBC’s Radio 1 music shows. As for 2010, Donae’o is currently working on his debut album, which is set to be released sometime this year. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, he stated that he has finished recording the album, and all he needs to do is just, “get all the pieces in place.”
A new video to his latest single “I’m Fly,” has just been released and as he said it himself, the video depicts exactly what Donae’o can bring to the table: energy. Check it out below…
