PAIGE

Paige is South African artist , known for her song “Mjolo” , which is sort of like a remix from Makhadzi’s version

 

Sdala B and Paige’s Ganama also did very well ,by doing so it  introduced Paige to the music world.

 

Their song has amassed a total of 10 million streams on all digital platforms and currently the most sort after groovy single in South Africa.

 

TikTok users has already started a challenge with the title “Ganama Zulu Version” and it has been used as the song background on over 100, 000 videos shared online on the platform.

 

 

WIZKID

 

When WizKid’s fourth studio album, Made In Lagos, originally dropped in October 2020, it quickly broke several streaming records among African artists.

 

Made In Lagos the first African album to debut on Spotify’s Global Album’s Chart.

 

The album racked up 100 million streams in only nine days.

 

Wizkid is no doubt the first Nigerian artiste to win three Billboard awards.

 

Wizkid’s “Come Closer” on which he featured Drake got up to a million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours of its release.

 

ZAKES BANTWINI

 

Zakes Bantwini was born on the 26th of April in 1981.

 

Zakhele Madida is the name he was given at birth. 

 

At the age of 12, Zakes Bantwini became a father, but despite his early fatherhood, he continued to finish his studies.

Joeboy’s  music video for “Baby” surpassed 16 million views on YouTube.

 

Joeboy’s single “Baby” was released on March 1, 2019; it garnered 20 million streams across YouTube and Spotify in 2019.

 

Joeboy was the first of 100 recipients to earn a share of a $300,000 grant; he used his portion of the grant to shoot a music video for his single “Fààjí”.

In 2020, Kuami Eugene released his second album named Son of Africa. The album has 14 songs, including Show Body and Marry Me. 

 

In 2020 Kuami Eugene won the Artiste of the Year from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
