Mdu’zbeger’s is a big softy in the kitchen, he loves baking and cooking. 

 

Mdu’zbeger’s first love has always been music, he describes music as his therapy and hopes to inspire and motivate his fans.

Neon Dreams is a Canadian alt-pop duo consisting of vocalist Frank Kadillac and drummer Adrian Morris. 

 

Neon Dreams defy genre pigeonholing. They draw freely upon pop, rock, folk, EDM, hip-hop and reggae elements.

 The Neon Dreams group met in High School where Corey was a DJ while the other members were originally into rock.

 

Neon Dreams released their debut album, Sweet Dreams till Sunbeams in 2019.It was inspired by Kadillac’s visit to a healing retreat where he opened up about his troubled childhood.

 

MTHANDAZO GATYA

 

Mthandazo Gatya’s big break came during the lockdown period in 2020 when he landed on the top 10 charts of Metro FM, Ligwalagwala FM and Ikwekwezi FM.

 

All of Mthandazo Gatya songs take less than an hour to create, from the lyrics to the hook. He listens to the beat, meditates on it and the records.

 

Mthandazo Gatya’s favourite artist of all time is Black Coffee. He has said he loves Black Coffee because of his versatility.

 

In 2010, Mthandazo Gatya won 2nd prize on the show Jam Alley, and that’s when he realised his musical potential.

 

Mthandazo Gatya was born and raised in a small township called Weilers Farm in the south of Johannesburg.

TEKNO

 

Tekno Miles was born Augustine Miles Kelechi Edgar and is also known as the Golden Boy of Africa.

 

Tekno was born on the 17th of December 1992.

 

Tekno enrolled in a music school at the young age of 8, where he learned and mastered the rudiments of playing the piano and guitar.

 

Tekno Miles was scouted by comedian Julius Agwu at an event in Abuja. Tekno had thrilled the audience with his performance of a song titled “Onye Ne Kwu”, his cover of Ice Prince’s “Oleku”.

 

Tekno Miles is not only a superb musician-producer but an amazing dancer as well.

 

MAFIKIZOLO

 

Mafikizolo won three SAMA’S and were nominated for numerous local and international awards such as the BET Awards, an All African Music Award and a Black Canadian Award during their career.

 

Mafikizolo performed with Akon in Wembley stadium and collaborated with Diamond Platnumz & Dj Maphorisa in 2015.

 

In 2015, Mafikizolo embarked on their first South African tour. They launched a six-city tour with the release of their album Reunited. 

 

Mafikizolo’s ‘Thandolwethu’ is co-written by singer and songwriter Msaki.

 

Mafikizolo was originally a trio. Tragedy struck when the third member Tebogo Benedict Madingoane was killed in 2004 in an alleged road rage incident.

Lil Nas X’s real name is Montero Lamar Hill. His stage name “Lil Nas X” was a tribute to rapper “Nas”.

 

Lil Nas X is 22 years old. He was born on April 9, 1999, in Lithia Springs, Georgia.

 

Lil Nas X learnt the trumpet in the fourth grade and became the first chair in junior high.

 

 Lil Nas X was the first artist to have a song remain at number one on the Billboard 100 list for 19 weeks.

SJAVA

 

Sjava started writing music at the tender age of 10 years old. He wrote original songs for his all-boy Isicathamiya group Abafana baseMpumalanga while in primary school.

 

Sjava was born Jabulani Hadebe on 2nd December 1984 in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal.

 

Sjava is a South African singer, rapper, and actor.

 

Sjava acted in  Zone 14, where he starred for three consecutive seasons. He ventured into the music industry and signed to the record label Ambitiouz Entertainment.

 

Sjava began his acting career in 2005, starring in several drama series and films including uGugu no Andile in 2009.

 

Sjava gained mainstream popularity after he was featured on Miss Pru’s acclaimed song Ameni.

 

MIGOS

 

The Migos real names are Quavious Keyate Marshall (Quavo), Kirshnik Khari Ball ( Offset) and Kiari Kendrell Cephus( Takeoff).

 

Before deciding on the name Migo’s the group called themselves “Polo Club”.

 

The Migos are largely influenced in their style by the late iconic rappers Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur.

 

In 2016 Kanye West tried to sign the Migo’s to his record label, G.O.O.D Music but the deal fell through and they signed with Motown and Capitol Records in February 2017.

 

The inspiration behind the name Migo’s is the Spanish word ‘Amigos’ in slang alludes to an abandoned house that is used as a ‘trap house’ to sell and make drugs in.

 

TLT

 

TLT is a rap duo that consists of two artists, Vusi Rantlha, also known as “Trouble”, and Phethego Makanyane, also known as “L-Tech”.

 

TLT met in 2006 in Katlehong and found their musical chemistry was undeniable. They separated for a while to venture into solo projects, but in 2011 came together and formed TLT.

 

The duo TLT is signed by RapLyf Records, owned by the award-winning Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi, better known by his stage name of Kwesta.

 

TLT featured on Kwesta’s album Dakar 2 in a song called Mmino, which reached a million views on YouTube.

 

TLT’s music video of MaiZuzu is currently sitting at 11,000 views and that number is steadily growing.

 

KWESTA

 

Kwesta’s real name is Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi. He was born in Katlehong, a township which is also known as “K1”. 

 

Kwesta developed an interest in poetry during his early high school years.

 

Kwesta dropped out of high school at the age of 16 to pursue his music career. 

 

Kwesta and his lady got matching ring tattoos way before they even spoke about marriage. How cute is that?

 

Kwesta used to go by the name Quest when he was still on the come up.

 

WIZKID

 

WizKid is the first Nigerian artist to win an award from the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

 

WizKid is the only Nigerian artist to maintain the number one spot on iTunes World Chart for more than one week.

 

WizKid’s “Come Closer” which featured rapper Drake got up to a million views on YouTube within 24 hours. 

 

WizKid got a day named after him by the governor of Minnesota, Mark Brandt Dayton. 

 

WizKid’s style is a mixture of streetwear and traditional Nigerian clothes. Pharrell Williams is his biggest fashion style icon.

 

LORDE

 

Lorde’s stage name comes from, you guessed it, her obsession with royalty.

 

Lorde has sound-to-colour synesthesia, a neurological condition that allows her to see colours when particular musical notes are played. 

 

Lorde had an Instagram account dedicated to her love for onion rings. Sadly, she didn’t keep up the account but shared that she prefers batter over breading and likes to pickle onions before frying them.

 

Lorde was first signed to a development deal in 2009 when she was just 13 years old. 

 

When Nirvana was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, the members tapped Lorde to sing in place of the late Kurt Cobain.
