The Chicago-native rapper Common is writing a memoir that will illustrate the artist’s career and upbringing.
“One Day It’ll All Make Sense” will focus on the 38-year-old rapper’s earlier life in the south side section of Chicago and will also discuss his career in both film and music, which includes his collaborations and rise to fame with artist Kanye West.
Common’s cinematic career involved the rapper’s role in the movie “Just Wright,” with fellow actress Queen Latifah. Other films that Common played a role in include “Terminator: Salvation” and “American Gangster.”
He penned his new memoir deal with Atria Books. The title of his memoir bears the same title of Common’s 1997 album. “One Day It’ll Make Sense” will be co-written by author Adam Bradley.
The memoir “One Day It’ll Make Sense” will be available for purchase June 2011.
