After launching his hat line called Soji in 2007, Chicago rapper Common is now coming back with a tee-shirt line called “Softwear”, in association with Microsoft. The tee shirts look futuristic, but they use the computer graphics of the 80’s to design them. According to Common, the line reflects both brands’ states of mind.
“Creativ”, one of the tee shirt, has for example the lyrics of “I Used to Love H.E.R” on the front and the back. “The Reminisce” has a huge “85” logo. Common explains that it is the year when microsoft started his software and also the first year he wrote a text.
The tee-shirt line will come out soon, hopefully spring 2009.
