Boys II Men

The most successful R&B group of all time, Boyz II Men, are set to return to the music scene with a new project entitled Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA.

The album, which is slated to hit shelves on November 13, features the Grammy Award winning group as a threesome – Wanya Morris, Nate Morris and Shawn Stockman – and will be produced by famed hit maker Randy Jackson.

The disc features the group covering a variety of Motown favorites including “Just My Imagination” by The Temptations, “Mercy Mercy Me” by Marvin Gaye and “Tracks Of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson.

“We wanted to pay tribute to an era that had such a major influence on our sound,” said Stockman via a statement.

“Everything on this record was recorded with all live instruments, and working with Randy we were able to capture the feel, vibe and energy of these classic songs,” Morris added.

The disc also features an appearance from fellow R&B crooner Brian McKnight, who also helped to produce a track on the album.

“The mixture of the classic Motown sound and today’s R&B soul is what makes this album truly unique,” said Jackson. The record will also mark the group’s first major label release in five years.

The album is set for a November 13 release on Decca Records.
