Black Kent

Having established himself in his adopted home of France, Black Kent is now gearing up for the US! His first single “Pass That” featuring Bishop Lamont is already a major Youtube hit with more than 4 million views, building up the buzz surrounding the upcoming release of his first album “Yes I Kent.”

At 22, Black Kent is already one of the most promising MCs of his generation. Born in Africa’s Ivory Coast, he moved to the South of France to continue his studies and pursue his dream in the music industry.

Securing the label ‘best rapper overseas’ from several industry heavyweights, Black Kent teamed up with French DJ Battle to release the mixtape “Back By Popular Demand.” This project established Black Kent as an international MC, able to rhyme in English and French with ease.

With the debut single “Pass That,” in collaboration with Aftermath recording artist Bishop Lamont heating up the airwaves, the French lyricist has already caught the attention of major actors of the global hip hop game. He is now preparing his next single “Spit Crack Music” featuring New York’s sensation Cory Gunz: the two MCs will be shooting a video for the track in Paris in October.

Black Kent, now a favorite of Thisis50.com and WorldStarHipHop.com, is definitely a player to watch. The debut album “Yes I Kent” is expected to drop on January 10th, 2010.
