The Black Eyed Peas have been working at a breakneck pace for the past couple of years. Since 2009, they’ve released two albums, “The E.N.D.” and “The Beginning,” sold out stadiums across the world, and racked up numerous awards. Now, the group is ready for a break.
Following the end of “The Beginning Massive Stadium” tour later this summer, the group will take a timeout from recording and be “more selective” about upcoming projects. And Fergie couldn’t be happier.
“I am so excited to take a break. The guys know that I’ve been waiting and it’s time and it’s exciting,” she recently told the Associated Press. “We’ve had such a great run together and we’re still touring this year, just less, more selective and we’re not working [on an album]. Unless they’re doing one without me.”
But Fergie isn’t just going to relax poolside. The 36-year-old plans to help others.
“Charity work. I’m excited to do more of that,” she said. “Give back, make it not so much about me, me, me, me, me.”
The singer will also work on her recently launched shoe line, Fergie Footwear.
“Seeing the line progress has been wonderful for me because I get to see how things get tweaked. I get to see the different use of materials and these are all things that I’m learning,” she said. “You know, I wasn’t trying to come into this and say I’m Christian Louboutin. You know this is a venture for me to express my creativity and to learn.”
In the meantime though, Fergie is gearing up for the Peas’ upcoming tour, which kicks off in June.
