Black Eyed Peas

With the release of their new album “The Beginning” out this week, the Black Eyed Peas aren’t actually trying to reinvent themselves. The album is more a sequel to their last hit “The E.N.D.”

“The Beginning” has a lot of engaging but predictable tracks filled with dance beats. Leader will.i.am explains this new album on their website as a “symbolic of adopting new technologies, such as augmented reality, 3-D and 360 video. It’s also about being experimental and taking songs we’ve liked from the past and playing around with sick, crazy beats.”

Several promo singles have already been released, including “Do it Like This” on Nov. 15, and “Light Up the Night” a week later on the 22, both after the official lead single, “The Time (Dirty Bit)” was released. The track features a sample from “I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’ — the classic song from 1987’s “Dirty Dancing.”
