Beyoncé has further cemented her reign as the queen of pop culture with the release of her new music video, “Countdown.” The Adria Petty directed video premiered last Thursday night and immediately generated good reviews.
The mod, soon to be mom dressed in a repertoire of retro styles, most notably paying homage to Audrey Hepburn’s simple black bob, turtleneck and wide brimmed hat photo spread. Beyoncé manages to look sexy even while sporting a slight baby bump in the 60s inspired montage, which, besides Hepburn, features recreations of styles from Diana Ross and the Supremes to Donyale Luna, British Vogue’s first black cover model, and an 80s Whitney Houston.
It may be due to the method of filming but Bey seems to be glowing, perhaps because of her bun in the oven, she recently spoke to E! News regarding the baby “I’m very excited! I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been.”
