Beyoncé will direct and star in an upcoming documentary about her life and work, according to the Los Angeles Times. This won’t be Bey’s first film, as she has previously acted in multiple movies including “Dreamgirls,” “Cadillac Records,” and is slated to star in a remake of “A Star Is Born.” However it will be Sasha Fierce’s first time directing, producing, and starring in a film.
The flick in question, currently untitled, will feature concert footage and personal interviews with Bey. There is likely to be plenty of material considering she recently had a baby, released the platinum album “4,” and ended her business relationship with her father, who was formerly her manager.
The newspaper cited an anonymous source who said 20 minutes are being previewed for studios around Los Angeles.
If released, Bey’s film would continue the trend of musicians portraying their careers and lives in movies. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry all recently released such films.
Stay tuned for updates.
