Beyoncé has split professionally from her father Matthew Knowles, who has represented her since she emerged on the music scene in the late 1990s as part of the multiplatinum-selling group Destiny’s Child.
In a statement to The Associated Press the R&B superstar said, “I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”
Beyoncé didn’t say what caused the end of their professional relationship, but her father said in a separate statement to the AP that the split was mutual.
