Sunday May 22 marked the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. The hottest artists of the moment were presented with an award. The most special award however went to Beyoncé, who received the Billboard Millennium Award, for her music and for her foundation’s humanitarian work.
No less than First Lady Michelle Obama, Bono, Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga paid tribute on film to Queen B. “Beyoncé has made history and she’s not even 30 yet,” said Wonder. Mrs. Obama applauded “the role model she provides so many women.”
Upon receiving the award, the singer thanked her mom, dad, Destiny’s Child, and shouted out her love to her husband Jay-Z. She called receiving the award “one of the best memories of my life.”
Beyoncé performed her newest “Run The World (Girls)” complete with interactive special effects that included an army of Beyoncés. Fans and fellow superstars alike were impressed with B’s amazing performance. Check it out below! B is clearly ready to take over the world, if she hasn’t done so already…
