Beyoncé

Two years after canceling a show in Malaysia after protesters threatened to disrupt the concert because of her clothing and sexy image, R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles said she will perform in the Muslim country in October, 2009 at the Bukit Jalil national stadium.

The performer who has been deemed too controversial for her image might have to cover up for her gig from head to knees with no cleavage showing if she doesn’t want to draw the ire of Muslims conservatives.

Recently the singer said on her website that she will perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s biggest city, on Oct. 25. “Beyoncé for the first time ever has decided to make Malaysia part of her “I Am…” world tour.

Sabki Yusof, youth vice head of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, said on Sunday, September, 20 that they would send a protest note to the government over the concert.

“We are not against entertainment as long as it is within the framework of our culture and our religion,” Yusof said. “We are against Western sexy performances. We don’t think our people need that.”

Sources said that the singer would be prevented from wearing miniskirts and clothes that “expose her navel” on stage.

Amongst the performers who were force to change their attire for something that revealed little skin were Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne. Last month the Malaysian’s government first barred, then reversed their mind to allow young Muslims to attend a Black Eyed Peas Sept. 25, show at Kuala Lumpur, on the pretext that the show’ sponsor is a beer company.

As for Beyoncé would she cover up?
