This week is definitely B.o.B’s week in the urban music world. Why? Because he released his debut album, “B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray” and it sounds GOOD!
“Nothin’ on You,” B.o.B’s first single and video from the new record, has been a total hit. The success of the song, which features Bruno Mars, was the main reason why the release date of his album was pushed up from May 25 to April 27. During April, the rapper released two other singles, “Don’t Let Me Fall” and “Airplanes.”
B.o.B has a unique talent in that he produces, writes, raps, arranges, and mixes his own music. In 2006, he signed a collaborative deal with Atlantic Records and T.I.’s Grand Hustle label. The 22-year-old artist released his first mixtape “Cloud 9” that same year. Two of his singles (“Haterz Everywhere” and “’I’ll Be in the Sky,” released in 2007 and 2008 respectively) hit the charts though neither song was featured on an official album.
