If you’re into Latin music, you know Aventura. The Dominican Bachata boy-band has been making girls swoon for a decade!
Anthony “Romeo,” Henry, Leny and Max Santos broke the mold when creating the music that would later make them the top selling latin group in the U.S. The Bronx-born quartet managed to forever change the sound of latin music by singing in Spanglish (Spanish + English) and incorporating elements of U.S. hip hop and R&B into their music.
On October 13th, the group reached another career milestone: they performed at the White House for President Obama and friends. The appearance was part of Fiesta Latina, a celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Thalia, Eva Longoria Parker and George Lopez were among those who attended the event. The concert, which also featured performances by classic artists like Gloria Estefan and Jose Feliciano, was taped live and aired on PBS on October 15th as a one-hour special show.
Aventura is most recognized for their 2003 hit “Obsesion (No Es Amor).” Their latest album, “The Last,” is No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart despite the fact that it debuted 18 weeks ago.
