Soul singer Amy Winehouse was hospitalized earlier this week in London for what her reps describe as “severe exhaustion.” But to few who follow her career’s surprise, rumors have it that the “Rehab” singer is finally headed to… rehab.
According to Yahoo Music UK!, the singer was hospitalized after collapsing from a drug overdose. She was taken to London’s University College Hospital where she reportedly was given an adrenaline shot and had her stomach pumped.
Her collapse came on the heels of Winehouse performing back-to-back performances at two music festivals in the U.S.
Winehouse’s scheduled performance at the Oya Music Festival in Oslo, Norway Aug. 9-12 has been cancelled. Though she has an upcoming appearance at the V Fesitval in England the weekend of August 18-19, it was unknown at press time whether she will still perform.
In other Winehouse news, the troubled singer is slated to make an appearance on an upcoming episode of “The Simpsons.” According to UK’s SoundGenerator.com, the singer has been asked by Fox to appear as a guest for the episode, which is set to air in 2008.
