Fresh off her first album on Def Jam after a painful breakup with Columbia Records R&B singer Amerie, 28, has chosen “Why R U?” as the lead single from her upcoming “In Love & War” summer album.
“In Love And War,” the songstress highly anticipated 4th album was produced by The Buchanans who have collaborated with Beyonce and Jay-Z. As well as Teddy Riley, Sean Garrett, Eric Hudson, Jim Jonsin and Rico love.
“I’ve been writing my heart out for the last few months…I really, really, really hope u feel me….” Amerie, said last month.
It has been three years since Amerie has released “Because I Love It” including the single “Take Control.”
The video for the single, titled “Why R U,” has been shot by noted director Ray Kay (The-Dream, Lady Gaga, Chrisette Michel) and will air soon. The record has already drawn comparisons to Mary J. Bilge’s “What’s The 411?” because of the old school feel.
“In Love & War” is due in stores in August.
