Amerie

Singer Amerie is set to release her fourth studio album, “In Love & War,” on August 11, 2009. This time around, the Island Def Jam production will officially reintroduce the Grammy nominated beauty after her split with Sony records.

From the sound of “Why R U,” the first single off of “In Love & War,” Amerie has stayed true to her signature. Her percussion-based fusion of rock & soul, tinged with R&B and hip hop of course, has yet to bore fans.

For the new album, the Korean/African American stunner worked with a variety of producers to perfect her sound. Collaborations include The Buchanans (who produced “Why R U” and also worked on Jay-Z’s “The Black Album” and Beyoncé’s “Dangerously In Love”), Teddy Riley, Sean Garrett & Eric Hudson, Jim Johnson & Rico Love and Brian Cox.

If Amerie stays true to her track record (think “1 Thing”), fans and impartial listeners alike are guaranteed at least one great song from this album to sing at the top of their lungs when no one else is around. As usual, Amerie is back with a bang.
