If you like it then you maybe should really put a ring on it… and impregnate it as well. The controversial couple who some love to hate, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats, now have something truly special to make a hit record about.
According to People.com, R&B songstress Alicia Keys and her producer counterpart Swizz Beatz, whose real name is Kaseem Dean, are reported to be engaged and pregnant with their first child. In fact, a close friend of the two tells the magazine that they are “very happy” and that they will jump the broom in a private ceremony later this year. This will be the first marriage and child for Keys, but of course the case isn’t the same for Swizzy, who has two children named Kasseem Jr. and Prince Nasir from previous relationships.
Swizzy’s previous relationship was with R&B singer Mashonda, who took to outlets such as Twitter to express her feelings for her “deadbeat” ex-husband and his new “home-wrecker” fiancée. In fact, Swizzy recently paid Mashonda $334,000 to avoid seeing her in Manhattan Supreme Court next week over unpaid child and spousal support. Swizz Beatz and Mashonda finalized their divorce last month. Just a couple weeks later, following Alicia Keys’ annual “Keep A Child Alive Ball,” it was announced that Keys and Swizzy were engaged and expecting their first child together. As for Mashonda, she was spotted in New York City this past Friday afternoon with her 3 year-old son Kasseem Jr. It just so happens that she was spotted right after the pregnancy and engagement announcement made on Thursday night. Mashonda didn’t speak on Swizz’s upcoming plans, but the smiles reflect that she was enjoying the Friday afternoon with her son.
As far as the wedding date, Swizz claims he’s “super excited” and that Keys and him haven’t set up a date yet. According to Keys, the baby should not be mistaken as any type of burden. Back in March, Keys told U.K. Daily Record newspaper that she is “very interested in starting a family.”
