Alicia Keys’ long awaited new video of “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” the piano driven lead single from her fourth album “The Element of Freedom,” debuted on the singer’s official website on Monday, October 19th.
“This beautiful city seems empty. All the people in the world and you can still feel lonely. What’s the point of having it all without the person you love. Sometimes you just need to start again in order to fly,” says Keys in the opening lyrics.
The breathtaking and emotional song written by Keys and longtime music partner Kerry Brothers expresses what it means to have everything without having someone to share it with and the emptiness that occurs when you are all alone.
Love it or hate it, “Doesn’t Mean Anything” will move fans thanks to Keys wonderful voice and beautiful tempo.
Since its release on September 22, 2009, “Doesn’t Mean Anything” debuted on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at number 65, making it Keys’ highest debut since “No One” debuted at number 71. Currently the song peaks on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 65.
“The Element of Freedom” hit stores on December 1.
