Akon

Akon’s “Konvict Muzik”, home to artists T-Pain and Kardinal Offishall, has gone international with the March launch of a new office in London.

“We will be scanning Europe and Africa for the next mega superstars,” says Melvin Brown, CEO and co-owner of Konvict Muzik. “When Akon and I partnered and created Konvict Muzik, we agreed that we would have the hottest artists on our roster. I have concentrated on diversifying the artist roster and creating an international presence. I personally look for unique artists.”

Brown confirmed the signing of two new international groups: the Reggae/R&B/Hip-Hop trio American Yard and Dutch boy band GLOWB.

Rounding out Konvict’s current roster are R&B singer Ray L, Pop/R&B act Colby O, and Atlanta rapper Dolla, who are all working on their debut albums, due out this year.

Meanwhile, Akon is also planning to follow-up his multi-platinum “Konvicted,” with a new album due in the spring.
