Akon: he invests in solar energy to provide Africa with electricity.

We are all well-aware of Akon’s charity projects and philanthropic initiatives especially when it come to Africa. According to several websites, the hip hop mogul announced at the United Nations Sustainable Energy for All Forum that he would invest in a solar academy for developing skills and training in Bamako, Mali to provide 600 million Africans with electricity. Lighting Africa has already installed street lights and household solar systems in 14 countries. Akon who created Lighting Africa along with Thione Niang and Samba Bathily will have the support of Solektra to pull off the project.
