A Spaniard runs 500 marathons in 500 days

Ricardo Abad, a Spanish ultrarunner just finished his 500th marathon in as many days. During this time, he used 25 pair of shoes to cover 21,097.5 km and criss-crossed the 50 capitals of the Spanish provinces. His journey, which started on October 1, 2010, ended on Sunday at the Olympic port of Barcelona, supported by approximately one hundred fans who cheered him on to the finish line.

This performance is even more impressive considering he was working an 8-hour factory shift at the same time. Ricardo Abad largely improved his own world record, dating back to 2011, when he ran 366 marathons in 366 days.

What record will he attempt to break next?
