Mercury Award winning artist Skepta and A$AP Rocky rocked London with £30,000 raised in aid of homeless charity Shelta.
Held in the Islington Assembly Hall and hosted by Idris Elba, Sketpa started his set by stating “We’re all here for a good cause and a good reason, and that’s to support Shelter and end homelessness.
Skepta further surprised the intimate 750 strong audience by bringing our A$AP Rocky to perform their 2016 collaboration ‘Put That in My Set’, naturally the audience went into a frenzy with the surprise performance. Boy Better Know mebers JME and Shorty also graced the stage.
With tickets priced at £40 and free tickets given to people previously helped by Shelta, merchandise sales and donations, £30,000 was raised to support Shelter.
The rapper ended the night on a positive note by saying: “Thank you to everyone for being here. Every penny goes to a good cause. Tonight is about all of us being together. This is about us all giving back. Everyone should give back.”
