“Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn.” – Charlie Parker
It’s been a rather interesting time in our lives and we find ourselves singing at the altar of REST IN PEACE and farewells. I don’t think our generation has ever been tested by so much pain, loneliness and uncertainty.
Calls that used to make your heartbeat with joy now induce anxiety inside you. Fear grips your soul when you say goodbye to your friends and family members because that goodbye could definitely be the last. To quote R.E.M: “It’s the end of the world as we know it”.
In our pursuit for clarity and peace during this time of confusion, we at TRACE hope you’ll take solace in music. We hope that you’ll find hope in song and that you’ll lose yourself in music and not in the despair of your thoughts. Between TRACE Gospel, TRACE Urban or TRACE Africa, we trust you’ll find a home for your heart to rest and take a beat from reality and just find hope in music. We truly hope that when you’re lost for words, music will be your prayer until such time you find your resolve.
“Music drives you. It wakes you up, it gets you pumping. And, at the end of the day, the correct tune will chill you down.” – Dimebag Darrell
So during your moments seeking love and reason to live, may music guide you back to your own strength, may you find your song again and dance to the now as the music plays on TRACE. May music give you your moment in the sun again and live to see another day.
As Andra Day sang in her song ‘Rise Up’ :
“…You’re broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can’t find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains…”
Find hope in music again!
