Jay Z’s Tidal will donate 1,5 million dollars to Black Lives Matter

Jay Z’s music streaming service Tidal will donate $1.5 million to Black Lives Matter and other social justice organizations on Friday, February 5.

Back in October 2015, Tidal held a special event in Brooklyn, New York, named Tidal 20 to celebrate the music streaming service’s 1 million users milestone. The charity concert featured Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Usher amongst other big names in the industry.

Now Roc Nation and Tidal has announced that the money raised from the sold-out show will be donated to political movement Black Live Matter and other social justice organizations.

Roc Nation and Tidal made the announcement the same day police brutality victim Trayvon Martin would have turned 21.
