Black Eyed Peas accused of ripping off Erykah Badu’s “Honey” video

A few days ago, the Black Eyed Peas announced their return on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio. Will.I.Am took the occasion to drop their new video called ” Yesterday “. Nevertheless, the new BEP video has left Erykah Badu with a bitter aftertaste.

With “ Yesterday “, The Black Eyed Peas pay tribute to hip-hop classics by taking the original samples and revamping them with new lyrics. In the video, Will.I.Am, apl.de.ap, et Taboo are walking into a vinyl store, using the record sleeves to travel from classic to classic. Thus, we can find, NWA, Wu Tang Clang, Peter Rock & CL Smooth, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and more.

It is a cool idea, but Erykah Badu did it first with her ” Honey ” video in 2009. She did not hesitate to go on Facebook and to question the group about that.

Here is her post on Facebook:

I think THE BLACK EYES PEAS borrowed my idea a Lil lol …I’m gone beat up Will I AM.I wrote and directed this…
