Africa Rising Music Conference 2024’s Spotlight Country, Superlative line-up of speakers and collaborating partners are also revealed ahead of May event.

Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC2024) is thrilled to announce the United Kingdom as its focus country for the 2024 conference taking place on 27 and 28th May in Johannesburg. 

 

The two-day event will be held in partner venues within Newtown JunctionMarket Theatre, and AMPD Studios, City Lodge Hotels, Nikis Jazz Club. It comes against a backdrop of the meteoric rise in the popularity of African music across streaming platforms and at live shows. Global pop icons like Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Rihanna have eagerly collaborated with Afrobeats stars, contributing to the genre’s evolution from a continental sensation to a worldwide phenomenon. This cultural exchange has catapulted artists such as Wizkid and Mr Eazi to international stardom, with the UK embracing these sounds with open arms. 

 

In an exciting development, ARMC2024 has partnered with PRS Foundation to facilitate the mobility of two exceptional artists from the UK. KEYAH/BLU, known for hits such as “til bliss” and “Sweet”, is set to captivate the ARMC2024 audience with her unique sound. Additionally, Rita Kamale, an artist of UK/Moroccan descent, will showcase her creative intensity and lyrical prowess, offering conference attendees a taste of her engaging singles, like “FEAR LESS.”

 

Delegates from the UK and beyond: 

 

Alongside spotlighting UK talents, ARMC2024 will also feature headline speakers from Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands. This year’s esteemed participants include Phodii (SA), Beatport’s Amapiano curator; Kwame Kwaten (UK), Managing Director of Ferocious Talent; Justin Mckenzie (UK), Co-Founder of Jazz re:freshed; D.O Gibson (CAN), rapper and president at Northstarr Entertainment Inc;  George, aka ‘Geobek’, (SA), renowned A&R strategist and entertainer; Emile Hoogenhout (SA), certified Ableton trainer; and Valentine Gaudin-Muteba, Managing Director of Trace Southern & Lusophone Africa (FR/SA). All these experts will share their invaluable insights into the music industry.

Attendees can secure their Phase One Tickets for free, with Phase Two tickets becoming available at the end of the month at a set price. Africa Rising Music Conference was created with the vision of building bridges, fostering independent voices from Africa, and amplifying underrepresented artists. It serves as a vibrant platform for artists, producers, music professionals, and fans from across the globe to converge, celebrate, and redefine music.
