Xperience Johannesburg’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg returned for its 2017 edition, displaying some stunning, trendsetting and fashionable designs on the runway. TRACE, the exclusive media partner, was present to bring you all the action.

Despite the low temperatures, the new venue, Waterfall Park at the Mall of Africa, was well attended by Johannesburg’s fashion elite.

This year, the designer listed included:

While many designers showed creative diversity and variation, a key trend could be seen at this year’s #MBFW. From floral prints to lace and mesh material, the concept of Spring/Summer collection was well embraced.

In addition to the designer shows, a new element was added to this year’s #MBFW, Xperince AFI, in partnership with The Threaded Man. This area was situated away from the traditional marquee and was used to showcase amazing pieces from up-and- coming designers such as:

  • SASH
  • Inanni
  • Uniconz
  • Swanker
  • Oh Yes Lord


Between shows, guests were entertained by the likes of Frank Casino, Nadia Nakai, 2LeeStark, and the Supamega, AKA, closing fashion week.

#MBFW17 boasted many new elements, cool entertainment, mesmerizing fashion and plenty of food and drinks, which left guests quite happy with their xperience of this year’s fashion week.
