The Jameson Cult Film Club thrust Johannesburg into a virtual reality by inviting cool kids of the city and film lovers to take part in an ‘out of this world’ futuristic experience at Joziburg Lane on Thursday the 9th of November 2017.
Offering more than a typically themed evening of sci-fi appreciation, Jameson South Africa used a series of spectacular special effects and props to immerse their guests into a dystopian future aptly themed around the award-winning classic ‘The Matrix’.
To keep the good vibes flowing long into the festive season, Jameson have shared some “Matrix” themed cocktails with TRACE South Africa and we want to keep you in the loop.
Just like choosing between a blue pill and a red pill, finding your signature drink is a significant decision. It’s what tells the world who you are and what you want without any of the words.
The Jameson Ginger & Lime.
Trinity is a force of quiet intensity and utter confidence. Just like her concealed love for Neo – the Jameson Ginger and Lime holds true to its robust flavour while holding onto an air of mystery.
Trinity serves as a uniting force, a ‘three-in-one’ being who mirrors the enigmatic ingredients of this signature drink. The versatility and honeyed character amp up the natural spice of this perfect serve, highlighting how these ingredients bring out the best in each other.
The Jameson Ginger and Lime is a beautiful juxtaposition of Trinity’s black leather latex and closely cropped hair. It’s a beverage with a seemingly delicate exterior but after delving deeper into its inherent Whiskey characteristics one can see that it does indeed pack a punch.

For Morpheus, a man who shows rationality in moments of tremendous danger, this is a no fuss, classical and timeless drink sure to take the edge off.
Like the brooding and mysterious character, the intellect that Jameson Whiskey bestows upon a connoisseur is both mature and profound. Jameson neat offers an air of maturity and endless capability to the captain of the Nebuchadnezzar as well as whoever sips on its smooth body. Morpheus, a brave, selfless leader who exhibits complete composure in the face of every challenge, believes he has honestly found ‘the one’. When we look at this perfect serve, he just might have.

The One – Neo.
Jameson Whiskey Sour
Like Neo’s search for his true self, the key to a Jameson Whiskey Sour is finding the right balance. This perfect serve embraces lemon as a counterpoint to the smooth Jameson Whiskey and adds a dash of sugar to take the edge off. Like the Matrix, these flavours come together and assimilate their ability to transcend the division between realms.
Initially confused and doubtful, Neo chose to disrupt his body’s neural connection, and board a fearless journey of self-discovery. Jameson’s daring combination of sour flavours pleasantly disrupts ones taste buds and transports them towards a dry finish of timeless Irish Whiskey.
Much like a divine prophecy, this Jameson Whiskey Sour is a refresher worthy of being called ‘the one’.
