As Thandiswa comes close to the release of her much-awaited album – Sankofa, she gives a taste of the music to a small audience at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg and Durban Playhouse. Audiences can expect to be covered in new and luxurious sounds that include works that were recorded in New York and Dakar produced by Meshell Ndegeocello and Nduduzo Makhathini respectively. In addition, there will be songs from her previous albums.
Thandiswa says, “I can’t wait to share some of my new music and experience the audience’s reaction. Sankofa is about fetching what has been left behind and the making of this work has really embodied that idea. I can’t wait for people to hear what we have been working on. It is sensitive and lush while at the same time very powerful to me”
